Audition Content

Rehearse with Cantata

Before or after the audition, the singer is invited to rehearse with the Chorale to see if Cantata is a good mutual fit.  The Chorale rehearses weekly on Sundays from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm during the concert year (normally September through May).

Interview

A short, informational interview is held with the conductor, to provide more details about the singer’s background and singing experience.

Vocalization

The singer will be asked to vocalize for the director to determine the range and color of the voice, then will perform a prepared classical solo of your choice. An accompanist will be provided.

Sightreading

The singer will identify the key and sightread his or her voice part of a Bach Chorale, a capella.

Results

Prospective members will be notified of results within 48 hours of the audition.
